Case Study #1
Case study #1 addresses the conversion of coal to a gaseous
fuel via a coal gasification process; and then application of
combined cycle technology to the production of power utilizing
the coal gas. This integrated gasification-combined-cycle (IGCC)
system was installed at the Sierra Pacific Power Company’s Piñon
Pine Power Plant.
