The 1978 Tabas earthquake was chosen as the reference ground motion. The testing
procedure involved subjecting the specimen to the selected input motion at various levels
of excitation. The testing runs corresponding to service state and survival state are
analyzed in this study and are referred to as Case A and Case B subsequently. A
comparison of the analytical and experimental displacement history for Case A in the
service state is shown in Fig. 7. The comparison shows good agreement.
