India Handicraft & Gift Fair 15th October<br />

to 18th October, 2011- NER Theme<br />

Pavilion Jammu & Kashmir Theme<br />

Pavilion.<br />

India Handicraft & Gift Fair, 2011 was held<br />

from 15th October to 18th October, 2011<br />

at Great India Expo Mart – Noida. The<br />

designers from NCDPD had set up a theme<br />

pavilion for North East Region and Jammu<br />

& Kashmir. The visual merchandising for<br />

different companies was also done during<br />

IHGF by the designers from NCDPD.<br />

20 master craftsperson/exporters<br />

participated in J&K pavilion and 30<br />

exporters/SHGs/NGOs participated in<br />

Theme Pavilion set up at IHGF, 2011.<br />

International Handicraft & Handloom Fair<br />

Bhubaneswar, Orissa<br />

The fair was held from 20th October to 23rd<br />

October, 2011 at Bhubaneswar, Orissa.<br />

The Design services were provided by<br />

NCDPD to 20 entrepreneurs for product<br />

development for the fair. The layout,<br />

graphic work and theme pavilion was set<br />

up by NCDPD. The designers also did the<br />

Visual Merchandising for the companies.<br />

INTEXPO – MALAYSIA : BEST<br />

THEMATIC DISPLAY BY NCDPD<br />

NTEXPO was held on 22nd November to<br />

24th November, 2011 at Kuala Lumpur,<br />

Malaysia. The theme pavilion and visual<br />

merchandising was done by the designers<br />

<strong>of</strong> NCDPD.<br />

The theme set up by NCDPD was<br />

appreciated by the King <strong>of</strong> Malaysia.<br />

Secretary <strong>Textiles</strong> also congratulated<br />

NCDPD for its excellent work at the fair.<br />

A letter <strong>of</strong> appreciation was received by<br />

the Chairman <strong>of</strong> The Synthetic and Rayon<br />

<strong>Textiles</strong> Export Promotion Council.<br />

ISO 9001:2008 : CERTIFICATION<br />

TO NCDPD<br />

NCDPD is now an ISO 9001:2008<br />

certified organization. The centre got this<br />

achievement for its support services in the<br />

field <strong>of</strong> Design, Product Development and<br />

skill enhancement for Handicraft Industries.<br />

International Jute Study Group (IJSG)<br />

Dhaka, Bangladesh from 24th October<br />

to 2nd November, 2011<br />

The joint training programme with NCDPD<br />

and IJSG has been conducted in Dhaka<br />

Bangladesh. A 10 days workshop was<br />

conducted by designers <strong>of</strong> NCDPD to<br />

train the entrepreneurs, manufacturers,<br />

artisans etc. on new design techniques,<br />

product development, IPRs, trends<br />

development, brand development etc.<br />

The programme was conducted from<br />

October 24, 2011 to November 2, 2011 at<br />

the IJSG Secretariat, Dhaka, Bangladesh.<br />

The 10 days training was inaugurated by<br />

Md. Ashraful Moqbul, Secretary, <strong>Ministry</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Textiles</strong> and Jute, Government <strong>of</strong><br />

Bangladesh. The Valediction Ceremony<br />

was chaired by Ms. Rita Menon, Secretary,<br />

<strong>Ministry</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Textiles</strong>, Government <strong>of</strong> India.<br />

Distinguished Directorate General,<br />

Development & Relations with African,<br />

Caribbean and Pacific States, European<br />

Commission, Mr. Enzo Barattini, also<br />

graced the closing ceremony.<br />

Fashion Show At Dilli Haat, on 14th<br />

December, 2011<br />

NCDPD has organized an accessories<br />

fashion show on Magic <strong>of</strong> Gifted Hands at<br />

Dilli Haat, on 14th December, 2011, during<br />

Master Creations, 2011 showcasing<br />

fashion trends and contemporary designs<br />

in Indian <strong>textiles</strong> and handicrafts.<br />

The fashion show aims:<br />

= to promote and create awareness<br />

<strong>of</strong> Indian handmade crafts among<br />

potential buyers;<br />
