Crores as against Rs. 1551.06 Crores in<br />

the corresponding period last year. The<br />

increase is mainly due to strengthening in<br />

the existing market along with capitalizing<br />

the new markets, product development<br />

and Increase in Bullion Imports by<br />

Rs.3446.86 crores (226 %) due to<br />

enrolment <strong>of</strong> new Associates with multi<br />

location operations. Increase in turnover<br />

in the core group and bullion imports,<br />

sourcing <strong>of</strong> products in core group at<br />

competitive prices and higher margins on<br />

exports, the operational Trading Surplus<br />

has increased to Rs. 11.31 crores during<br />

the year as compared to Rs. 9.49 crores<br />

in the previous year, an increase <strong>of</strong> Rs.<br />

1.82 crores (19.18 %).<br />

After accounting for overheads amounting<br />

to Rs. 16.36 crores (previous year<br />

Rs. 15.49 Crores), the Corporation has<br />

made operating pr<strong>of</strong>it <strong>of</strong> Rs. 0.68 Crores<br />

as against operating loss <strong>of</strong> Rs 0.50<br />

Crores in the previous year. The net<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>its for the year amounts to Rs. 0.92<br />

crores as against net loss <strong>of</strong> Rs. 1.16 core<br />

in the previous year.<br />

EXPORT PROMOTION AND TRADE<br />

DEVELOPMENT<br />

1. The Corporation has participated<br />

in various exhibitions in India and<br />

abroad to showcase the new samples<br />

developed from traditional crafts<br />

and <strong>textiles</strong> clusters as well as to<br />

upgrade knowledge on designs and<br />

fashions abroad. During the year, the<br />

Corporation participated in a number <strong>of</strong><br />

international fairs viz., 21 st India Home<br />

Furnishing Fair (Osaka – Japan), 31 st<br />

India Garment Fair (Osaka – Japan),<br />

World Expo Shanghai (Shanghai)<br />

Pret-A-Porter (Paris – France),<br />

Heim-Textil (Frankfurt – Germany),<br />

Brand India Mega Show (Australia),<br />

International Autumn Fair Birmingham<br />

(UK)., Houseware & Gift Show (Sao<br />

Paulo Brazil) AFL- Artigiano (Milan,<br />

Italy)2010, New York International<br />

Gift Fair(New York USA) and Inter<br />

Gift Fair (Madrid, Spain) Participation<br />

in domestic fairs includes IHGF<br />

(Autumn) 2010, Tex Trends India<br />

2011, IHGF (Spring) 2011 and Indian<br />

Asean Business Fair 2011.<br />

2. Garment Studio at Noida has been<br />

transformed to Garment Factory<br />

to facilitate design input & quality<br />

control. CAD & CAM facility has<br />

been installed and for Total Quality<br />

Management, machines like<br />

Coloring Meter & Testing standard<br />

has also been identified. With<br />

the Productivity point <strong>of</strong> view a<br />

dimension has been added to HHEC<br />

i. e. Factories at Chennai and Noida<br />

combined together are giving an<br />

output <strong>of</strong> 1 lakhs pieces <strong>of</strong> stole per<br />

month which are being exported to<br />

14 European countries We are also<br />

registered users <strong>of</strong> “SILK MARK”<br />

and “HANDLOOM MARK” to ensure<br />

genuine product and thus boast our<br />

Markets.<br />

3. To expand our horizon and<br />

maintain whole time presence in<br />

the International Market we have<br />

opened the Franchisee Showrooms<br />

in Montevideo, Norway and planning<br />

for opening Franchisee Showroom<br />

in New Zealand, Abu Dhabi,<br />

Australia and other new emerging<br />

market during the year. For further<br />

development <strong>of</strong> business in potential<br />

global markets, General Sales<br />

Agents have been engaged during<br />

the year.<br />

4. In order to increase our presence in<br />

Global and Domestic Market, HHEC<br />

has positioned itself for retail outlets in<br />

leading museum in world with a view<br />

to showcase the museum object on<br />
