TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT<br />
SERVICES:<br />
<strong>Textiles</strong> Committee reoriented its role<br />
from that <strong>of</strong> regulatory to developmental.<br />
The developmental activities were<br />
initiated in rendering consultancy on<br />
ISO-9000 quality management systems,<br />
ISO-14000 Environmental Management<br />
systems, SA-8000 (Social Accountability<br />
Management Systems), OHSAS 18000<br />
(Occupational Health and Safety<br />
Assessment Series).<br />
A total <strong>of</strong> 17 units have availed the<br />
consultancy services under ISO 9000 /<br />
ISO 14000 / SA 8000 / OHSAS 18000.<br />
A cumulative total number <strong>of</strong> units under<br />
consultancy have gone upto 515 units so<br />
far. 17 units are expected for consultancy<br />
services under various standards in the<br />
current year.<br />
Training to Industry Personnel:<br />
(April - 2011 to Nov - 2011 as given at<br />
table 13.3)<br />
Post Certification Activities:<br />
In order to demonstrate the continued<br />
relevance <strong>of</strong> <strong>Textiles</strong> Committee in<br />
the development <strong>of</strong> Small & Medium<br />
Entrepreneurs (SMEs), the Committee has<br />
introduced the post certification activities.<br />
As on 30/11/2011, 11 companies have<br />
availed post certification support services<br />
from the <strong>Textiles</strong> Committee. For this<br />
service, a sum <strong>of</strong> Rs.1,80,000/- has been<br />
collected as fee.<br />
HANDLOOM MARK<br />
<strong>Textiles</strong> Committee has been appointed<br />
as implementing agency (IA) by the<br />
Office <strong>of</strong> the Development Commissioner<br />
(Handlooms). The Handloom Mark<br />
was launched on 28.06.2006. The<br />
performance report in the Handloom<br />
Mark Scheme as on Nov. 2011 is given<br />
at table 13.4.<br />
Popularization <strong>of</strong> the Mark through<br />
Domestic and International Publicity:<br />
The success <strong>of</strong> Handloom Mark scheme<br />
depends upon the action taken towards its<br />
popularization. This has been achieved<br />
not only through the sensitization<br />
seminars but also through other publicity<br />
measures. The publicity measures are<br />
broadly classifying into two categories<br />
such as ATL (Above the Line) activities<br />
and BTL (Below the Lines) activities.<br />
The ATL activities consist <strong>of</strong> publishing<br />
through Print and Electronic Media tools<br />
