= In pursuance <strong>of</strong> the above objectives,<br />
the Corporation is undertaking the<br />
following activities:<br />
1. Mill Gate Price Scheme (MGPS) is an<br />
important scheme <strong>of</strong> the Government<br />
<strong>of</strong> India under which yarn is supplied<br />
to the handloom weavers all over the<br />
country at the Mill Gate Price by the<br />
NHDC. The details <strong>of</strong> yarn supplied<br />
under the scheme during the 11 th<br />
Plan are given at table 12.13.<br />

Under MGPS, NHDC is operating “Depot<br />
Scheme” <strong>of</strong> the Government <strong>of</strong> India,<br />
wherein, 788 depots have been made<br />
operational till Dec. 2011.<br />
The Corporation is also supplying quality<br />
dyes and chemicals to the handloom<br />
sector at competitive prices under the<br />
scheme. The details <strong>of</strong> supplies made<br />
during 11 th Plan by the NHDC under the<br />
scheme are as given at table 12.14.<br />

In order to promote marketing <strong>of</strong> handloom<br />
fabrics, the corporation organizes special<br />
exhibitions like Silk Fabs & Wool Fabs.<br />
The Government <strong>of</strong> India reimburses the<br />
expenses incurred by the Corporation in<br />
mounting these exhibitions. The details<br />
like number <strong>of</strong> exhibitions, participating<br />
agencies and total sales generated at<br />
these exhibitions during the 11th Plan is<br />
given at table 12.15.<br />
Besides, Corporation has set up 8<br />
marketing complexes at Jaipur, Kolkata,<br />
Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Indore,<br />
Navi Mumbai and New Delhi, where the<br />
handloom agencies from different parts <strong>of</strong><br />
the country display and sell their handloom<br />
products to the discerned customers.<br />
NHDC also undertakes the following<br />
programmes to educate the weavers<br />
about the latest dyeing techniques and<br />
also about the on-going schemes <strong>of</strong><br />
Government <strong>of</strong> India for development <strong>of</strong><br />
handloom sector and awareness <strong>of</strong> the<br />
weavers:<br />
1. Quality Dyeing Training<br />
Programmes.<br />
2. Buyer-Seller Meets.<br />
3. One Day Sensitization Programmes.<br />
4. Programmes on Development <strong>of</strong> new<br />
products by using different kind <strong>of</strong><br />
yarns.<br />
The details <strong>of</strong> turnover, pr<strong>of</strong>it dividend<br />
issued rating etc <strong>of</strong> the Corporation during<br />
the last five years are as given at table<br />
