WFGrefers to discussions of the Women’s Friendship Group made up of bothAboriginal women co-researchers and other interested Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women. D refers todiscussions, I interviews and FG focus group.Trustworthiness, accountability and rigourTrustworthiness of this research is linked to close relationships with coresearchers,stakeholders and mentors and their involvement in all stages ofthis research, including the review of their own transcripts, the emergingthemes, research findings, and the final document. The research process wasopen and transparent, with my personal nurse/researcher agenda andmotivation clearly explained. At all times I remained accountable to theAboriginal women and community, the health services, university and researchbody. Ethical considerations were considered paramount and addressed to thehighest level possible. Rigour refers to following recognised research practicesof collecting, tracking, analysing and storing data in ways that are recognisedas valid.Analysis and interpretationCo-researcher and stakeholders’ analysis and interpretations occurred as theybegan to make sense of their own day to day experiences in discussions,interviews, focus groups and meetings.
