Improving network cooperation

This project is designed to improve the cooperation between
the LVR-Klinikum Düsseldorf and the complementary
institutions of the City of Düsseldorf within the Mental
Healthcare Sector 1. The main topic is the definition
of healthcare pathways for people with severe mental
illnesses. (Awarded the “Healthy State of NRW” prize 2009).
Benchmarking Project

The project is designed to introduce routine benchmarking
between all clinics of the Rhineland Regional Association
(LVR) for, at present, two diagnostic groups (schizophrenia
and depression). To develop regular benchmarking, there
has been close collaboration with the LVR KIS working group
and to develop quality indicators, with the existing DGPPN
working groups.

Notwithstanding the significant progress made in the
treatment of people with depression, existing guidelines
and multi-dimensional care models are not yet being
taken into sufficient consideration by general practitioners,
specialists and psychotherapists. An evaluation of the
former quality management projects under the umbrella
of the Competence Network on Depression indicates,
however, that the implementation of treatment guidelines
and associated quality management measures helps to
improve the treatment of depression. The main objective
of this project is the transfer of the established guidelines
and quality management tools into routine mental
healthcare, with discussions being held with general

Within this project, three objectives, closely linked in terms
of content, are being pursued:
s The creation of a principal technical/theoretical
consensus guideline for the implementation of
interfaces between documentation systems in
healthcare and research.
s The preparation of corresponding standardised data
models in cooperation with SCIPHOX and CDISC.
s Agreement and exemplary implementation of a
modular documentation and guideline platform for the
neuropsychiatric competence networks in medicine.
