The Day Care Unit House 20 of the Division of General Psychiatry and
Psychotherapy II has been housed in a newly restored building
CME courses provided by the LVR-Klinikum Düsseldorf
since 2005 have been certified accordingly by the Medical
Association North Rhine.
Because of the growing importance of the internet
as a medium of information, the website of the LVR-
Klinikum Düsseldorf (www.klinikum-duesseldorf.lvr.
de) was completely redesigned in 2004 and 2005 and has
since been regularly updated. This website is intended
as a readily accessible source of information – for staff
members, students and the public – about the LVR-Klinikum
Düsseldorf and its range of facilities in healthcare, research,
student education and CME. This is also where the LVR-
Klinikum Quality Report is available as a download.
During the review period, a series of construction and
maintenance projects (see Table 2) served to improve the
outer appearance of the Klinikum. By removing walls and
fences, the Klinikum has managed to find an architectural
expression of its policy of openness, presenting an inviting
and welcoming front to its neighbours and visitors. The
target planning initiated already in 1993 by the LVR and the
HealtHcare
LVR-Klinikum is the framework in which a range of farreaching
infrastructural measures are to be taken.This plan
also foresaw a strengthening of the clinical and scientific
ties with the Düsseldorf University Hospital, including the
construction of three new day care clinics on the premises of
the University Hospital (scheduled for 2010).
Finally, the LVR-Klinikum Düsseldorf also supports activities
that have developed as spin-off initiatives, largely through
efforts by its staff members. These include the Kicherbohne
crèche, operated by a parent initiative on the hospital site;
the Elan organisation, which allows non-professional
people to perform voluntary work at the Klinikum; the
arbeit & integration association, which strives to facilitate
professional rehabilitation (and which also features an
integration company that operates the cafeteria on the
premises); the Association of Psychiatrists and Neurologists
Düsseldorf, which unites office-based psychiatrists and
neurologists with hospital doctors; the Düsseldorf Alzheimer
Society; the Alliance Against Depression Düsseldorf; and the
Open The Doors Association.
