This group is currently analysing the results of routine
EEG investigations within the context of work towards a
medical doctorate. First results show that around 40% of
those investigated had slight EEG alterations and around
5% severe EEG alterations (Figure 13), which led to further
follow-up investigations. These investigations will build the
basis for the development of evidence-based, diagnosisrelated
recommendations regarding the rational use of
routine EEG in psychiatry and psychotherapy. In addition,
the group participates in the EEG investigations within the
context of research into Alzheimer’s disease.
Test-psychological investigations/
neuropsychological diagnosis
The Test-Psychological Investigations (TPI) function unit
is assigned to different departments. TPI serves as an
instrument to support the diagnostic process and the
investigations are carried out at the request of the treating
doctor in relation to the (suspected) diagnosis and the
questions to be answered.

Test-psychological investigations within the context of
clinical studies and research projects
In clinical studies and research projects, TPI is used
according to the study protocol to monitor the disease
course or as a measurement of the changes at various times
and/or compared between groups. The procedures are used
to measure the current cognitive performance, observe
disorder-related traits and investigate self-assessed mood.
The defined target parameters represent a measurement of
the methods used. The following areas are investigated:
