Griese Medical doctors pass specialty training in neurology in the Division of Neurology according to the standards of the Medical Chamber of Northrhine Westphalia. Neurology specialty training takes five years, four of these in neurology (two years can be completed in the Division of Neurology) and one year in psychiatry. Trainees in psychiatry can complete their obligatory neurology year in the Division of Neurology. Trainees in neurology attain in-depth proficiency and practical capabilities in the diagnosis, differential diagnosis and therapy of neurological disorders. Trainees in neurology are introduced into the method of doppler sonography and the usual electrophysiological tests. 188 4.2.4 Specialty Training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Head: G. Ott Specialists for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry are being trained in the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry according to the specialty training standards of the Medical Chamber of Northrhine Westphalia. Trainees in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry can attain in-depth knowledge, experiences and capabilities in the theoretical foundations of the diagnosis, differential diagnosis and therapy of mental disorders and disorders of child and adolescent age. Specialty training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry lasts five years, including four years in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and one year either in pediatric medicine or Adult Psychiatry. During this time, trainees acquire extensive theoretical knowledge and experiences in a range of psychotherapeutic methods.
