TIEPBy age 16 IDEA requires a student’s IEP teamto address transition services the studentneeds to achieve their post school desiredoutcomes. When transition services areaddressed the IEP becomes a TIEP.Students who have 504 plans are not legally requiredto have separate transition plans, but they are entitledto transition planning as part of their 504 plans.IPEThe student who attends school with an IEP or a504 Plan is likely to leave school with a new kind ofplan — an Individualized Plan <strong>for</strong> Employment (IPE).The IPE is a blueprint <strong>for</strong> successful employment<strong>for</strong> the person who uses the services of theFlorida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation(DVR) or the Division of Blind Services (DBS).A student who is eligible <strong>for</strong> vocationalrehabilitation has a right to an IPEdeveloped by DVR or DBS be<strong>for</strong>ehe or she leaves school. Withoutthe plan, the student can’t gainaccess to services from DVR orDBS.
