―When we think about our sins, we have to admit that they are wrong and that they are
displeasing to God. But what does God say in His Word? He says that, ‗If we confess our sins,
He will be faithful and just‘ (1 John 1:9) … When God looks at us, He sees us ‗in Christ.‘ No
matter how many times we fail, God promises to forgive us when we confess our sins to Him.
God does not like our sins, but He loves us. His love for us never changes. God says in His
Word, ‗I have loved you with an everlasting Love.‘ (Jeremiah 31:3)‖ 20 … You cannot remain
deliberately in your sin, and any church that teaches the same is going against God‘s words!
Vanessa: Do you know what Lucy? The main difference between you & I is that I don't try to
change what God says, nor do I try to make excuses to avoid following the words of Jesus Christ
… I guess perhaps the Holy Spirit hasn't convicted you of your hypocrisy, or maybe you aren't
truly saved yet … Notice when I brought up politics in an earlier comment, you said we weren't
talking about politics. Notice as well that I didn't go into detail about politics then because I
wasn't truly discussing politics. No, I was using that analogy to point out your inconsistencies
related to the condemnation of sin. I brought up politics to point out your hypocrisy … You are
so adamant about not hearing a gay minister preach, and yet you will openly support and vote for
a greedy, murdering, lying politician (maybe using the excuse that he is a ―lesser evil‖) … So, with
this all in mind, I'm curious: are you miserable in your sin when you support corrupt & immoral
politicians? Are you miserable in your sin when you choose to support animal cruelty with your
food choices? Or are you not miserable at all when you make these choices – because you aren't
truly a Christian? … Lucy, you are picking only some sins to condemn while leaving
many others untouched … This is inconsistent, and this is hypocritical.
Lucy: I think it is you, Vanessa, who is the one that is miserable! This thread is about whether
we would listen to a gay preacher, and because we said no -- and have given you a legitimate
reason why we would not do so, you have become hostile! You choose to see what you want to
see, and to hear what you want to hear! We have been talking about all sexual sins; not just the
homosexual sin! You are a typical liberal and it is showing! These gay preachers are not setting
a good example, and they are going against what God tells us is sin! They are living in their sin,
and they are boastful of it! … So you can call me a hypocrite and whatever else you want. I
would not take my child to a church and lead him to believe that homosexuality is acceptable in
God's eyes! You can go to your church that condones these sins and set a different example for
your child if you wish … You can even have a pedophile working in the daycare center of your
church; a pedophile taking care of your child, because you and your church see no harm in
teaching that God condones such sins … God loves these people, and we as Christians tell them
of the love of Jesus – unlike you & yours who lead them on and say that their sin is OK in God‘s
eyes … So who loves them more, Vanessa? If my child or any other child was doing something
that could hurt or even kill them and I saw that my interference could protect or save them, then I
would not hesitate to do so! … Please show me where God say's that sin is acceptable. You say
it is OK, so show me where God says so ............
interestingly enough, lists one of the Bible‘s few clearly pro-gay verses (1 Samuel 18:1) in its Method Statement, and
a webpage that claims as its primary goal to have everyone ―grow up to be just like David‖ – a well-known Old
Testament murderer & adulterer, and openly described as a homosexual in the Old Testament as well!
