Lucy #072: You then go on to claim that, ―It is not OK to defy God. He has warned us
that He will not forgive any sin that has not been washed by the blood of Jesus Christ.‖
Hmmm … Well, aside from the fact that Jesus himself vehemently begs to differ with
you on this front (see John 5:2 + Matthew 5:48 + 1 John 4:18 + Matthew 18:22 et al) – and aside
from the fact that being gay is itself not a sin at all, I wonder about all the homosexual Christians
who have had their ―gay sins‖ washed by the blood of Jesus Christ (just like Oliver Clyde Allen
has had his sins so cleansed)… Surely they will be in Heaven with you, right? And if not, why
not? And if so, how do you feel about spending eternity with (at least) tens of millions
of homosexuals – and if so, why won‘t you go and listen to him preach on Sunday?
Lucy #073: At this point you start quoting from Don Koenig (a deep-in-left-field, ―endtimes‖,
evangelical, online blogger) who starts by stating, ―Jesus said you cannot enter the Kingdom
of Heaven unless you are born of the Spirit. The new birth from the Holy Spirit occurs when a
person truly believes that Jesus is the son of God and trusts in the finished work of Jesus on the
cross to atone for their own sins and justify them before God.‖
Ummm – actually, my Friend, that is not at all what Jesus says about being ―born again‖
– that is what Paul says about it. Jesus made it pretty clear via his ministry what he meant by
what he said in John 3:8, and in light of all the self-deprecating statements he makes in the New
Testament (see Mark 10:18, John 5:41, John 8:50-54, John 12:44 etc – statements you have conveniently
dismissed or ignored up to this point, I might add) it is also clear that he most certainly did not want
any of us (gay or straight) to become ―born again‖ by worshiping him. No, Koenig‘s definition is
Paul-inspired & man/church-made, and has nothing at all to do with The Way of Jesus Christ – a
way that is to be followed (i.e. boldly emulated & enlivened) not worshipped.
