Daniel #122: Next you state that, ―You can keep reminding me that I need to clean my
cup if you wish … We all do.‖
And once again, Dan, we happen to agree. Indeed, this is exactly my point in this thread
– and exactly Jesus‘ point as well in many of his sermons. We all have our shortcomings, and as
such – unless we see someone directly attacking or harming another – it is not for any of us to
call out the failings of others … period!!!
My Friend, you can keep on errantly believing that homosexuality is a sin all you want,
just please stop harming homosexuals by publicly condemning them for being who they were
born to be (or even for who they are choosing to be) … Just keep your prejudices to yourself and get
on about cleaning the only person‘s sins Jesus authorized you to clean – your own!
Daniel #123: Thereafter you cite a pro-repentance statement from Paul [―There is no joy
in finding sin in other people‘s lives. True joy comes in repentance‖ – possibly paraphrased from 2
Corinthians 7:9, though I couldn‘t find those specific words in my Bible] to support your admission
that, ―Sometimes I think I would be better off to remain silent so that Satan would not know how
to attack me. And yet I don't think God wants me to be silent all the time.‖
I think you are right about this one too, my Friend – with the following Christ-based
caveat: that if God is indeed the all-Loving Father who Jesus claims He is, then He wants you to
open your mouth to uplift others and encourage them to serve & love, not to denigrate them and
bring them into fear or despair. He wants you to open your mouth to challenge those whose verbal
or physical violence is harming others, not to commit those same unjust & bigoted attacks.
