Lucy #457: Next you state that, ―You cannot pick and choose the parts of the Bible that
you like and then ignore the parts that don't fit your lifestyle.‖
Well then why are you doing so, Lucy? If you are truly all about worshiping ―the whole
Bible‖, then why are you completely ignoring hundreds of the literally thousands of verses of
Scripture I have referenced for you here in this thread over the past several months?
Why do you persist in telling others that I am the one ignoring Scripture when I am
the only one in this conversation who actually isn‘t doing so?
Would you like me to offer you a few specific examples of your pot calling my kettle
black? Maybe you can try the following examples on for size:
*What about Matthew 5:48, where Jesus notes that God's Love for all His creation is
―perfect‖ and therefore without limitation or exception?
*And what about 1 John 4:18, where that epistle‘s author notes that God's perfect Love
contains no fear, and therefore metes out NO PUNISHMENT whatsoever?
*And what about John 5:22, where Jesus notes clearly that God judges no one?
*And what about Luke 6:36, where Jesus tells us to ―Be merciful, in the same way your
Father is merciful‖?
*And what about Matthew 18:21-22, where Jesus points out that we are all to actualize
God‘s perfect mercy by forgiving all our lives' trespassers completely and without exception?
*And what about Mark 12:31, where Jesus points out that his commandment to ―Love
your neighbor‖ is essentially the most important one in the entire Bible?
*And what about the Parable of the Good Samaritan (in Luke 10:29-37),
which shows that the ―neighbor‖ to which Jesus refers in this prime Commandment
(stated in Matthew 22:37-40) is actually our cultural enemy – in your current case at
hand, homosexuals?
*And what about Matthew 18:3-4, where Jesus tells us that unless we become openly
humble like little children we will never enter his Kingdom of Heaven?
*And what about Matthew 7:1-2, where Jesus tells us that we are not to openly judge the
sins of others?
*And what about Matthew 7:3-5 & Matthew 23:25-26 & John 8:7, where Jesus thrice
tells us that we are to completely cleanse ourselves of our own sins before we evince the gall to
openly criticize others of theirs?
*And what about John 13:34-35, where Jesus tells us that his primary commandment is
not to ―save the lost‖ but rather to ―show Love towards one another‖?
So, my Friend, since you are all about believing in the legitimacy of every verse in the
entire Bible, what about these verses? How do you reconcile you not only ignoring them, but
you & yours actually violating them during your condemnatory dealings with homosexuals?
