Lucy #267: Next you say that, ―Jesus is never quoted in the New Testament as having
directly addressed rape, incest, domestic violence or homosexual behavior. So are we supposed
to believe all these practices are okay with him?‖
Lucy, do you actually need me to answer this question? Seriously?!? … Of course you
don‘t! And yet I will anyway … In essence, Jesus would quite clearly denounce the behaviors
that you mention that cause harm to others and create innocent victims – namely rape, incest and
domestic violence. And Jesus would quite definitely and most unconditionally support the
innate conditions of others that do not harm anyone and do not create innocent victims – like
homosexuality (or being female, or being black, or being a Jew etc etc). Indeed, any other
manifestation of Jesus would not only be immoral, but hypocritical as well. And we
all know how much Jesus couldn‘t stand hypocrisy (see Matthew 23) …
Also, Jesus is never quoted directly about animal cruelty or genocide or slavery, Lucy …
And all of these practices are either indirectly or directly supported by the Old Testament and its
mostly dysfunctional ―God‖ … So are you telling me that Jesus championed these blatantly evil
practices as well, merely because they weren‘t directly mentioned by him in the
Gospels? Of course he didn‘t! To say otherwise is to significantly tarnish his
divinity and remake him in our human society‘s most-sinful image.
And what about publicly condemning the sins of others, Lucy? Jesus never mentioned
anything about that either ---- Wait a minute … He was quoted about that wasn‘t he? Yes, he
was quoted about that topic quite a bit, actually. Let‘s see – what did he say again? ………
Oh yes – he said THIS:
―Do not judge, so that you may not be judged … Why do you see the speck in your
neighbor‘s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? ... You hypocrite! First take the log out of
your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor‘s.‖
~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-2)
… and he said THIS:
―Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter
the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the
Kingdom of Heaven.‖ ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4)
... and he said THIS:
―All who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be
exalted‖ ~ Jesus Christ (Luke 18:14)
... and he said THIS:
―Let [she] who is without sin cast the first stone.‖ ~ Jesus Christ (John 8:7)
... and he said THIS:
―You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of
greed and self-indulgence ... First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside may also
then become truly clean.‖ ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 23:25-26)
