Lucy #412: You then go on to state, ―You make Jesus into a mere man; just a simple
Peace Pilgrim like yourself.‖
Hmmmm … Again, not exactly … Aside from the fact that I am not even one thousandth
the man that Jesus apparently was (and aside from the fact that I will not even begin to approach even
a tenth of his greatness until I too choose to literally sacrifice my very life for The Way like he did),
neither your beliefs nor mine are really relevant on this matter … The Bible‘s beliefs, however,
are relevant – and they are actually quite clear … Please consider:
*First of all, Jesus himself repeatedly denied that he was in any way on par with God, his
heavenly Father (see Mark 10:18, John 5:41, John 7:16, John 14:28, John 12:44, John 8:50-54 et al) …
*Secondly, the Bible itself denies Jesus‘ abject holiness as well – noting with regularity
that Jesus was an incredible man (an almost perfect manifestation of the ―Son of God‖ which resides
within us all; see John 14:20) … Indeed, the Bible shows him to be a truly heroic man – and yet as
a man he was portrayed therein nonetheless (see Acts 2:22, 1 John 4:2, 2 John 1:7, Luke 2:7, John
4:6, John 19:28, Matthew 4:2, Matthew 4:11, Luke 23:26, Luke 24:39, John 20:20, Matthew 8:10, John
11:33-35, John 13:21, Hebrews 5:7, Luke 2:52, Mark 13:32, Matthew 26:39, 1 Timothy 2:5 et al) …
*Thirdly & finally – and for Jesus most importantly, each & every one of us is
potentially just as ―from above‖ as he was; meaning that we can all walk his Way, and thereby
become Children of God once again ourselves (see John 14:20, John 10:34, John
13:34-35 et al) – if we have the humility to put down our condemnations of
others and the courage to reach out to actively Care for them instead.
