Lucy #389: Penultimately, you state that, ―You are the arrogant one! You are
judgmental of God‘s Word and of Christians for believing in the whole truth of God‘s Word!‖
(sigh) … Lucy, we have already covered the incredibly important distinction between
the ―judgment‖ of Matthew 7:1-2 (that Jesus denounces) and the ―righteous judgment‖ of John
7:24 (that Jesus endorses), and yet I will attempt to explain it to you & yours one more time …
When a white segregationist publicly blasts Blacks or Latinos for being ―lazy‖ or
―immoral‖ or ―dangerous‖ or ―unintelligent‖ based solely on the color of their skin, this is a
bigoted ―judgment‖ of the kind that Jesus denounces in Matthew 7:1-2 … These are the
judgments that people make against who others are, or against choices people are making that do
not directly harm 3 rd parties. Quite clearly, this is the very same ―judgment‖ that you & yours
are levying upon homosexuals – calling them ―mortal sinners‖ based more on how they were
born than who they are choosing to be &/or condemning certain choices they are making that
pose no harm to anyone else (e.g. choosing to have consensual sex with a person of their same gender).
On the other hand, when a champion of civil rights publicly ―outs‖ those white
supremacists for their bigoted beliefs about Blacks or Latinos, this is a ―righteous judgment‖ of
the same kind Jesus supports in John 7:24 … These are the statements that people make against
what others are doing; specifically those actions that are harming 3 rd parties. Clearly again, this
is the very same ―righteous judgment‖ that I & Vanessa are gently yet firmly levying upon you
& yours – rightfully pointing out that your biases are harmful & bigoted & hypocritical; doing so
not only to potentially guide you back towards The Way of Christ, but also to defend the
innocent homosexuals who are being harmed by your unjust & ignorant condemnations.
P.S. As far as my potential arrogance goes, while I have no problem calmly and factually
pointing out the many ways that you & yours are clearly violating the teachings of Christ, I have
never claimed that I am 100% right about that Way being ―better‖ or ―best‖ or ―right‖ or ―true‖
… Yes, I have an immense faith that God‘s LOVE is indeed far greater than my own – and thus
that my interpretation of His LOVE is the correct one, and yet I am more than humble enough to
know that I might be wrong; … and that you & yours might actually be correct; … and that Paul
might have been correct about Jesus where Jesus was
wrong about himself; … and that God is thus indeed a
wrathful, petty, capricious tyrant who takes pleasure in
sending harmless sinners to an eternity of torment.
I certainly hope that is not the case, of course,
and yet I humbly admit that it might be – and I am
more than prepared to give God an honest earful if He
does turn out to be even half as wickedly judgmental as
you claim He is!
And yet none of this makes me arrogant, my dear
Friend. To the contrary; all of this actually makes me
―humble as a child‖ in the same way
Jesus wanted us all to be humble, and
thus it all makes me still & ever a devout
Follower of The Way of Jesus Christ …
