Daniel #006: You then say that, ―Boundaries can be biblical‖, and I once again fully
agree … In fact, except for much of the deeds and most of the teachings of Jesus Christ, most of
the Bible is literally composed of boundaries & limitations & rules & restrictions. Indeed, I
think that this is one of the major problems Jesus had with the Old Testament laws – their
confining nature, and that this is why he bent or broke or amended almost every single one of
them (see pages 26-31 for a massive proof of the same) – and that is why he told us all over
& over & over again to avoid infringing upon the sanctity of others by placing bigoted
boundaries around them &/or their beliefs &/or their behaviors!
―Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will
be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you notice the speck
in your neighbor‘s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the
log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor‘s
… Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees; you hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of
others], but inside are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the
inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become truly clean … Truly I tell you,
unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … Be perfect [in
LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect.‖
~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-5 + Matthew 23:25-26 + Matthew 18:3-4 + Matthew 5:48)
Daniel #007: Next, you go on to say that, ―Life becomes much easier when we discover
that we were not designed to be a superhero and fix people.‖ … Again I fully agree with you
here! Indeed, we can only share the Truths that we have each lived and tested, and then we can
only sit back and Love others fully & completely while they do with those gifts whatever they
wish … I also totally agree with your Steven Furtic quote – the one that states we are all to ―put
down the magnifying glass and pick up a mirror.‖ … Of course, THAT is precisely what inspired
me to enter and participate in this very thread. You see, Dan, we cannot follow the Way of
Christ while simultaneously harboring judgmental bigotry for others – while simultaneously
hiding behind the feebly murmured ―But the Bible says so‖, or the even more cowardly ―But it is
my God doing the judging, not me‖, or
the ultimately ludicrous ―Neither my
God nor I am condemning sinners (in
this case homosexuals, but also Muslims,
transgenders, atheists, Buddhists etc);
rather, they are condemning
themselves‖ …Indeed, my
Friend, harboring beliefs in
the damnation of others,
especially when we
acknowledge the simple fact that we
ourselves are regular sinners as well, is
clear hypocrisy & blatant bigotry; both
of which are in direct violation of
everything for which Jesus stood – and
for which he taught – and for which he
lived – and for which he died.
