Daniel #149: Next you say that, ―As with everything else, if you take the text out of
context, you are left with its contra.‖
EXACTLY, my Friend! And this is precisely what you & yours are doing in this thread!
Indeed, we need go no further than John 7:24 to see that this is the case – as you & yours use this
verse on its own to justify openly criticizing homosexuals, while Jesus (as I just finished
explaining on the previous page) uttered this statement to encourage his accusers to have
―righteous judgment‖ and STOP judging him incorrectly!
And in addition, and on an even larger scale, your ―out of context‖ argument works
against you too. For there are actually not only innumerable passage-specific contexts within
the Scriptures, but also a handful of over-arching ―uber-contexts‖ that apply to the entire Bible
as a whole … And it is these latter realities that you & yours have been fully neglecting.
Indeed, you & yours tend to read each passage of Scripture in its own immediate context
(and sometimes without any context at all) and thereby allow yourselves to believe in a hypocritical
God who is simultaneously harshly condemnatory of sinners (see Leviticus 18:22 & Leviticus
20:13) and yet somehow all-Loving as well (see Matthew 5:48 + 1 John 4:18 + Luke 6:36 + Matthew
18:21-22 + John 5:22 + Isaiah 25:6-8 et al) … And yet what you all fail to do is read the entire Bible
in the context of Jesus Christ. If you were to do so, you would comprehend that the Bible‘s
verses cannot be correctly followed individually – and indeed that they cannot even be properly
followed solely within their own specific contexts – unless they also harmoniously resonate with
what Jesus had to say in the Gospels!
