Lucy #334: You then quote James 5:20 as saying: ―Let him know, that he who converts
the sinner from the error of his way shall save a Soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.‖
Firstly, Jesus is the one who lets us know how we are to ―convert a sinner from the error
of his ways‖ – namely, with open acts of unconditional forgiveness &/or radical, non-judgmental
acts of unconditional Kindness; primarily accomplished while keeping our mouths shut from start
to finish …
Secondly, if we are truly to ―believe the whole Bible‖ (as you & yours claim to do) then we
must assume that James does not contradict himself … And if James does not contradict himself,
then we must also posit that he – like Jesus – also wants us to ―convert sinners‖ with silent acts
of humble, non-judgmental Love … Please consider the words of James:
―God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble … Do not speak evil against one
another, brothers & sisters. Whoever speak evil against another or judges another, speaks evil
against the law and judges the law … There is one lawgiver and one judge who is able to save
and destroy. As such, who are you to judge your neighbor?‖ ~ James 4:6-12
