Daniel #010: You start off by saying, ―If you‘re going to get to the truth you will have
to concede some points.‖
Ummm – not necessarily, my Friend, though I guess it does depend on what you mean by
―truth‖. If you mean ―truth‖ like ―the Truth‖ – the objective underlying factual reality of God
& Jesus & Heaven & Paul & the Bible & Salvation, then there really is nothing to concede,
because neither you nor I (nor anyone else, for that matter – biblical scholars included) know anything
about any of those things with any concrete certainty. Indeed, to say otherwise – as Lucy has
done on a number of occasions – is to not only reflect an ignorance of the Bible‘s diversely
varied contents, but is also to clearly cross over the ―humility boundary‖; to commit an
arrogance-violation that makes it impossible for the utterer thereof to enter the ―Kingdom of
Heaven‖ of which Jesus taught & which Jesus enlivened (see Matthew 18:3-4 + Matthew 23:12 +
Mark 9:35 et al) …
On the other hand, if by ―truth‖ you mean what functions for Good – i.e. which
interpretations of the Bible bear the best Spiritual Fruit (see John 15:8 + Matthew 21:43 + Galatians
5:22-23) &/or which beliefs most accurately reflect The Way of Jesus Christ when put into
practice, then I – as an actively devout walker of that same, selfless Way – have nothing to
concede … at least not yet.
