Vanessa: Lucy -- again, would you at least listen to a gay minister preach a sermon on Jesus?
Lucy: No! He would not be teaching the truth of the Word of God, because he would be going
against the teaching that he is to turn from his homosexual acts -- not embrace them, and he would
be sending the message that we can defy what God has said to be sin -- that we can continue in
unforgiving sin, and that to do so is OK with God … [You might believe that it is OK to] do
whatever you want as long as you do it with love, [and yet that is] not what the Bible teaches.
Vanessa: Lucy, you are telling me that because you consider him to be living in sin that you
wouldn't sit and listen to him, and yet you too are a sinner. You too have gone against God's
word --- so does this mean everyone should discredit your witnessing as well? … Why do you
maintain that the sins of a gay man are worse than other sins? … And besides, you don‘t even
know for sure whether he is even sinning at all – or do you know what every gay
preacher does in the privacy of his own home? For that matter, do you even know the
actions your own minister performs behind his closed doors?
Scaughdt: I find this entire discourse to be incredibly odd … I mean, how is preaching a
sermon on Jesus committing a ―homosexual act‖? What in the world is sinful about what Oliver
Clyde Allen is doing in the picture below – and where in the Bible does it say so?
