Lucy #472: Thereafter you make a rather bold challenge – claiming that, ―A true
follower of Christ will lead others to Christ‖, and asking, ―Are you doing that, Scaughdt, or are
you leading them to destruction?‖
Hmmm … Frankly, my dear, you have already received more than enough information
from me in this thread to answer that question yourself … After all, I am the one who has been
quoting Jesus over & over again herein, and I am the one who has been radically championing
his Way since the very beginning of this thread!
Yes, it is true that you & yours are claiming to honor him and that you & yours are
claiming to worship him, and yet you are also quite openly giving Old Testament verses and
passages from the writings of the ―apostle‖ Paul far more weight than the sayings of Jesus Christ
in your dealings with homosexuals … As such, I think it is more than fair for me to turn your
own question back on you; to ask you whether you are truly leading others to the actual
teachings of Jesus, or rather are you leading them instead to what Paul believed about Jesus?
I think when we read the words of Jesus while thinking about your treatment of Oliver
Clyde Allen in this thread, the answer becomes quite clear as to who it is you truly follow:
―Do not judge, so that you may not be judged … Why do you see the speck in your
neighbor‘s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? ... You hypocrite! First take the log out of
your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor‘s ...
You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and
self-indulgence ... First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become
truly clean … All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be
exalted … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never
enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in
the Kingdom … Let [she] who is without sin cast the first stone.‖ ~ Jesus Christ
(Matthew 7:1-2, Matthew 23:25-26, Matthew 23:12, Matthew18:3-4 & John 8:7)
