Bart: Love is the foundation of good … It is a solid rock, and no house of evil shall be built
upon it. For the house of evil sits on a beautiful shore that many will flock to, and the sea will
become angry at this ugly sight and remove its foundation, and all who will live there will drown
in its pure waters … This might prove to be a little harsh for some, unless they are accompanied
by the Holy Spirit.
Scaughdt: Bart: is this seriously your only response to the three major points that I just raised?
Really?!?!?! … I mean, if we were only talking about a mild slap on the wrist here, then I would
simply shrug my shoulders at you answering my Points #01 through #03 (pages 78-82) with a
little self-styled verse, and yet we are talking about something far more grave & earnest here –
namely, we are talking you choosing to read the Bible in such a way that openly affirms and
even honors a God who is going to damn millions of homosexuals forever to the torments of
Hell … How can you & Lucy (patently Good People, I continue to believe) affirm such a godhead,
and how can you so callously dismiss the grave injustice He is perpetrating on all those that the
Old Testament deems to be ―mortal sinners‖? … PLEASE EXPLAIN this somewhat
bizarre (and at least according to me, far less than moral) choice!!!
Beth: Yes, we are to love the sinner but not the sin. What does light have to do with darkness?
The Christian loves the sinner but hates the sin: a person of the world taught the humanistic
philosophy of the liberal media and schools loves the sinner and accepts the sinful lifestyle -- and
that is the big difference!!! In the humanistic philosophy of this world you can love a sinner to
Hell by ignoring the sin and not letting them know they are sinning against GOD!!!
Scaughdt: My dear Beth – as far as judging others to be ―sinful‖ is concerned, I'm pretty sure
your own Lord & Savior would tell you very gently to keep your mouth sealed and look in the
mirror instead, n‘est ce pas? (Matthew 7:3-5) Otherwise you will yourself be judged by the very
callousness with which you are judging others (Matthew 7:1-2), and otherwise your clear &
intolerant arrogance will keep you from being able to enter Jesus' Kingdom! (Matthew 18:3)
Of course, the funny thing is, Paul would be absolutely thrilled with you
condemning others for believing differently than you do (and just as thrilled with you condemning
those born differently than you as well), but this brings us to the crux of the matter: Are you a mere
follower of Paul, or are you a Follower of Jesus Christ? If you judge gays to be ―mortal sinners‖
according to the very Old Testament verses that Jesus came to abolish & amend, then you are
most certainly the former ... and I humbly recommend that you ―switch teams‖ post haste!
Vanessa: AND if you all truly believe it is acceptable to love the sinner and not the sin, then
why would you not sit in and listen to a gay man's sermon about Jesus Christ or his Way? I
mean, you listen to other sinners, right Bart? So why not a gay sinner, my Friend?
Bart: First off, I don't sit and listen to no one … If you are implying that I go to church, then
you have misjudged me once again, because I don't. Do you believe that God will uphold the
message that homosexual preachers send out – namely, that the gay lifestyle is acceptable in the
eyes of God?
