Daniel #119: Thereafter you state that, ―If I had any lust in my heart of any kind,
including homosexuality, as a new creation in Christ I would not welcome that sin as acceptable.‖
Well Dan, as it so happens, Jesus & I essentially agree with you on this one as well! And
yet you are still forgetting two very important practical facts relevant to the case at hand:
First, you still don‘t comprehend the simple fact that homosexuality is not a lust-based
condition. Just as there are heterosexuals who lust and those who do not, there are also
homosexuals who lust and those who do not. And, my dear Friend – this post is NOT ABOUT
LUST! … Indeed, if this post was about not attending the church services of lusting
pastors, then no one would be able to go to church – any church – ever again …
No, my Friend, this post is about homosexuality in general; specifically whether or not
you would ever go and listen to a non-lusting, openly gay, fully ordained Christian minister
(which is exactly what Oliver Clyde Allen represents in the picture that Bart originally posted) preach
The Word of God … Indeed, if lust were at all relevant to this discussion, then you would be far
better off posting about (& commenting on, & even rebuking) the far more prevalent sin
of heterosexual adultery in the clergy (see Leviticus 20:10 + Matthew 5:27-28) …
And yet this conversation has nothing to do with lust. You have said that you
would not go and hear Oliver Clyde Allen preach solely because he is gay – and I have simply
pointed out the fact that this is a patently bigoted belief that is biblically unsupportable!
Indeed, I have asked you many times to give me a single verse from the Scriptures that directly
& clearly condemns homosexuality itself, and all you have been able to do is misquote vague
passages about homosexual lust that do not even vaguely hint at the same.
Secondly, even if homosexuality itself were a sin (which it isn‘t), it is a violation of the
teachings & commandments of Jesus Christ for you to openly rebuke it as such. One of my
favorite professors used to quip that ―repetition is a legitimate pedagogical device‖, and as he
was fully correct on this point, I will offer the referred to verses to you & yours once again –
again … And this time, my Friend, instead of discounting them because they uncomfortably
show you to be denigrating The Way of Christ, why not open your Heart to them while
you read them – and possibly return to living in harmony with that Way instead!
―Do not judge others, so that you may not be judged … Why do you see the speck in your
neighbor‘s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your
own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor‘s … You
hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and selfindulgence
… First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become truly clean
… Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom
of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … Let [only]
he who is without sin cast the first stone.‖
~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-2 + Matthew 23:25-26 + Matthew18:3-4 + John8:7)
