Lucy-Spew #27 … on Correction & Judgment
Lucy: ―Correction is not judgment, as the Bible says that we should correct, rebuke and be bold
to those who are sinning. It is to be done in an act of caring for them, in the hope that they will
believe. That way we could contribute to the saving of a Soul. If we don't, we could be
responsible for suppressing the truth, which could mean eternal death instead of eternal life for
that person. ―Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall
save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.‖ (James 5:20) 49 …
So no, Scaughdt, I will not go and listen to an openly practicing gay preacher because
of his disrespect for the Word of God! … ―There is no positive aspect of homosexuality in the
Bible. Every mention of homosexuality in Scripture is negative, and it is both an act and a
lifestyle condemned by God. In all our interactions with homosexuals, remember that their
identity is rooted in a practice that God calls sin; a sin that (like all sin) leads to destruction. This
issue is complicated because unlike many other sins, the homosexual is often in search of
approval for his/her actions, which is something that I as a believer simply cannot give … Can a
person love God and disobey His Word? And is homosexuality an act of disobedience? What
does the Bible really say about homosexuals? The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual
activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans
1:26-27 teaches specifically that those who fall into homosexuality do so as a result of denying
and disobeying God.‖ 50 …
Scaughdt, I will speak of the Love that God has for them, and I will not be unkind to
them in any way. They are free to live however they want … They simply have a choice to
make: to live for themselves or to live for Christ. I have not condemned them, I only speak the
words of the Bible! Take it up with God -- He has the say on all sin. I know you don't like that,
but that's the way is! …
If you knew Him you could understand how someone so holy cannot have sin in his
presence. He made a way for everyone to be in his Kingdom, but they refuse that gift … Can you
prove where I or anyone else here has condemned the homosexual? If so I would love to see it,
because you have called me a bigot and a hypocrite and thereby falsely accused me of being
something that I am not … Speaking the Word of God does not make me a bigot or a hypocrite!!!
Scaughdt: Fair enough, my dear Friend … Fair enough. You seem quite certain of yourself and
your beliefs, and your biblical interpretations, and your religious beliefs -- and I respect that
certainty. Still … please consider the following illuminations of this, your latest comment:
Richard Hole; a lay, left-field, biblical literalist who is encouraging Christians to completely abandon the pursuit of
all material wealth in order to have a better chance of becoming one of the ―chosen‖.
by Jesse Johnson, who happens to be the Teaching Pastor at Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, Virginia; an
evangelical church dedicated to – among other things – the conservative dogmatic precepts of the Trinity, the
subjugation of wives to their husbands, and the ultimate forgiveness of all Christians ―for every sin‖.
