Dan, I'm sure that you are very aware that Jesus not only vehemently chastised
hypocrites, warlords, and tax collectors, but that he also openly lambasted all those who refused
to forgive their enemies &/or those who committed adultery &/or those who got divorced. And
yet I am also sure that you are quiet aware that Jesus never once mentioned homosexuality in
anything other than a neutral light (and then only indirectly & non-condemnatorily in Matthew 19:12)
– NOT ONE SINGLE TIME! … Now you can deny these facts about homosexuality and focus
on the bigoted Old Testament‘s supposed condemnations thereof (outdated laws, by the way, that
Jesus came to amend & in many places discard – see pages 668-673) and heed the ramblings of Paul
(ramblings that quite often directly contradict The Way of Christ – see pages 637-638) if you
wish, and yet to do so in the manner in which you are doing so is frankly an insult to
Jesus' ultimate sacrifice and a flagrant denouncement of his Way, his Truth & his Life.
As you yourself so aptly put it – ―What is true is not false. What is correct is not
incorrect. What is right in the eyes of the Lord is not wrong.‖ My Friend, how bizarre it is that
it is actually you & yours who are in stark violation of all three of those edicts! The Old
Testament laws did exist in Jesus' day, that much is quite clear. And Jesus came to amend their
dysfunction – that much is equally so. And this isn't merely my own personal theory, Dan – the
author of Hebrews actually makes it very clear as well that this was indeed the case. (Please read
Hebrews 8:8-13 carefully; and then please consider applying it to your life Care-fully.)
In short, my Friend, if you truly are a follower of Christ (and thus proclaim to heed his way
and abide by his teachings) – and if you truly are a ―man of the Bible‖ (which quite clearly shows
that homosexuality itself is NOT A SIN) – and if you truly do wish to listen to a pastor who has
―the faith to follow Jesus‖ (and thereby preach a non-damning Love & Acceptance for all sinners, not
merely those with whom you are most comfortable), then you would indeed go and hear a devout,
non-lusting, openly gay preacher (like Oliver Clyde Allen) share the Word of God! And yet it
appears that you actually aren't any of these things, and thus that you won't do so … yet.
Much Peace to you & yours, my Friend … S
P.S. When it comes to you quoting Romans 12:2, I think you might be better off doing so
while looking in the mirror ... Just sayin‘.
