Lucy #433: Thereafter you quote Jeremiah 6:10 to try and prove your point (a verse which
does not do so, by the way – it merely has Jeremiah exclaiming his frustration with reproving others, and
does not encourage us to emulate his same arrogance), and yet you thereby fully ignore the Christfriendly
wisdom of Jeremiah 31:33-34; a passage which has Jeremiah quoting your own God as
saying A) that morality is already written on each & every person‘s Heart, B) that none of us are
to teach anyone else how to worship God, and C) that all sins will indeed be forgiven … How
convenient of you to fully dismiss this passage while warping the context of its predecessor!
―I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people. No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, ‗Know
the LORD,‘ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest … For I will forgive
their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.‖ ~ Jeremiah 31:33-34
Lucy #434: Then you claim that, ―fear of offending or seeming intolerant should never
move us to silence‖ … Well, while it is true that fear should never be our source of motivation, it
is also true that a humble Love always should be. And this is clearly not the case with you and
yours, Lucy. Instead, you all profess to have the only answer to the Bible, you all profess to
have access to the only way to interpret the Scriptures (the vast majority of Biblical scholars who
happen to disagree with you be damned), and you all profess to know the only version of Jesus
Christ, the only version of God, and the only way to
adjudicate sin. Frankly, such arrogance borders on
the delusional, my Friend, and possibly even fully
transgresses its haughty borders … After all, it is not
that you merely seem intolerant when you condemn
homosexuals for their sins, Lucy, you literally ARE
being intolerant towards them when you do so!
P.S. And as far as ―silence‖ is concerned, it
is actually the very thing that Jesus would have you
enliven – especially when the alternative is your
arrogantly misguided condemnation of the sins of
others. Indeed, whenever we have the choice to
damn another‘s behaviors or keep silent about the
same, Jesus quite consistently encourages us to
choose to the latter over the former (see Matthew 7:1-
5, Matthew 23:25-26 & John 8:7 et al). Would that you
& yours would do the same!
