Lucy #144: Thereafter you quote the seemingly disturbing Matthew 18:34, which says
―And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due
unto him.‖ … Of course, the phrase that immediately leaps out to any true Follower of The Way
of Christ (and the phrase that you are apparently overlooking) is “pay what was due” – in other
words (as The Apocalypse of Peter openly agreed – see page 252) – even in Hell we will all only reap
what we sow; we will all indeed be showered with the direct consequences of the choices we
make, and yet we will all only ―pay what is due‖ from those choices! Receiving an eternity of
damnation for one flickering lifetime of sin is a drastic overcharge by any decent person‘s
measure, and Jesus tells us in this very passage that we need have no fear of this
happening to us – that we need have no fear at all of reaping even one instant more
suffering than our earthly mistakes merit!
P.S. Even Paul stumbled & bumbled onto this Truth as well (though I am assuming that he
never understood the deeper implications of the same) when he wrote, ―For God has imprisoned all
in disobedience so that he might be merciful to all.‖ ~ Romans 11:32
