Daniel-Deluge #03 … on the Wages of Sin
Daniel: The first question that should be asked is why people die … It is because of sin. That is
something that is common to all. We all sin and we all die. Even morally good people die …
―The wages of sin is death‖ – this is the Word of God … The proof that Jesus was sinless is
because he rose from the dead … The way we deal with sin is with spiritual discernment … So
what do we do with people who are completely lost; people who haven't had enough of this
world, people who conform to the image of this world and not to God? The first thing we do is
understand that a sin is committed because someone believes a lie from a unclean spirit … A lie
that says it is OK to get drunk or just live your life for yourself; a lie that says that bestiality is
OK, or a lie that says that sin doesn't matter … A Christian loves the sinner. A Christian prays
for them. A Christian speaks truth to them … But we don't judge them … The heart of a believer
knows that Jesus does not give up on them … God will love you all the way, but you can't expect
to live like Hell and not think that you have made a choice thereby.
Scaughdt: Dan, we have once again veered far from the primary point of this thread, and yet
personally I'm kind of glad we have … There really wasn't too much more to cover on the whole
homosexuals-damned-by-God issue anyway, and what has yet to be covered we can easily cover
a bit later … … You make quite a few interesting new claims in this comment, my Friend.
Allow me to elaborate upon them with the following responses:
Daniel #039: You initially claim that humans die because of sin. This is interesting for
two reasons – First of all, science has pretty clearly proven that we die because we are born into
a human body that is designed to live for approximately 150 years (maybe a bit longer, in truly
ideal conditions) before it ―wears out‖ and perishes. Are you somehow claiming that the physical
human body can live forever if it is living in a sinless state? … If so, that is an interesting
proposition. In fact, I myself have experienced dramatically enhanced health since starting to
live Jesus‘ Way back in 2005 (though I doubt it will bring me immortality, even if I were to walk it
perfectly), so maybe there is at least some measure of Truth in what you allude.
The second reason why this idea is intriguing is that we still have no resolution for the
―homosexual Christian‖ problem – namely, the gay believer (like Oliver Clyde Allen) who has
had his or her sins ―washed in the blood of Christ‖ and yet remains gay (because he or she was
born gay) and therefore – according to you & yours – burns forever in Hell anyway … Or are you
willing to now admit here that homosexual Christians will go to Heaven after they die?
(especially seeing as how homosexuality itself is NOT A SIN!)
