Daniel #180: Then you go on to cite Romans 3:10-23, which reads in part – ―There is no
one who is righteous, not even one … All have turned aside, together they have become
worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, there is not even one … The venom of vipers is
under their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood
[see Leviticus 20:13!] … and the way of peace they have not known.‘* … But now, apart from
law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, the
righteousness of God through the faith of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no
distinction, since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.‖
My Friend, this is quite the nice Paulinist treaty on the nature of sin, and yet it is
otherwise fully irrelevant to our discussion here, if for no other reason than you have NO
EVIDENCE at all that Oliver Clyde Allen is sinning now, NO EVIDENCE that he has
sinned in the past, and certainly NO EVIDENCE whatsoever that he would sin while
preaching from the pulpit during the hypothetical visit that you are rudely refusing!
In addition, it just so happens that once again you cite a biblical passage to justify your
condemnation of homosexuals that relates just as well to every heterosexual preacher to whom
you would agree to listen on Sunday! I mean, these verses come right out say as much – telling
us quite clearly that ―There is no one who is righteous‖ and that ―All have turned aside‖ and that
―all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.‖ As such, it is more clear than ever
that your rejection of Oliver Clyde Allen‘s sermon is in effect a manifestation of
bigotry, my dear Friend – a manifestation that is quite plain, and quite simple.
Finally, you neglect to mention a few very important verses that follow this particular
passage; namely, Romans 3:24 (which makes it clear that all Christians – including Oliver Clyde Allen
– are just as justified as you & yours) and Romans 3:27 (which should remind you & yours to return to
Jesus‘ Way of Peace by quitting your ―better than thou‖ boasting and setting aside your arrogant
judgments of homosexuals)!
*Note that this passage has Paul mixing & matching numerous verses from the Old
Testament (with Psalm 14:1b, Psalm 140:3, Psalm 10:7, Proverbs 1:16 & Isaiah 59:7-8
being the ones quoted here) to in effect create his own Scripture!
