Burnishing Bigotry - 3rd edition

Lucy #171: You then claim that you have ―no problem with gays‖, and yet I‘m afraid
this statement just doesn‘t fly, Lucy, if for no other reason than you have consciously and
willingly chosen to worship a version of God who is going to allow the vast majority of
homosexuals to burn forever in Hell. And you are not only worshiping this God in general, you
are openly affirming His despotic form of punishment – you are proudly supporting that very
same act of raw cruelty & repulsive injustice. So I‘m afraid you don‘t get to say ―I get along
fine with the gays I know‖ while you simultaneously defend the same Celestial Being who will
be allowing those same homosexuals to moan & writhe forever within a lake of fire …
(and this even though the Bible itself never once claims that being gay is a sin!)
And that is exactly the point, my dear … Jesus was quite clear on this matter, and you are
ignoring his Wisdom to your own great detriment – and that Wisdom is this: It is not OK for
you to condone their behaviors at all. That is what bigotry is, Lucy – and that hypocritical
prejudice has nothing to do with The Way of Christ, much less the perfectly unconditional
LOVE of his heavenly Father!!!
―Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will
be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck in
your neighbor‘s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log
out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to identify the speck in your neighbor‘s.‖
