Truth #04: It is NOT the responsibility of Christians to “save” others …
First & foremost, the Bible itself makes it very clear that it is God & God alone who is
responsible for the ultimate & inevitable salvation of all sentient beings (see Psalms 22:27, Psalms
65:2, Psalms 145:8-9, Isaiah 25:6-8, Hosea 11:9, Zephaniah 3:9, Jeremiah 31:33-34, Matthew 5:44-48,
Matthew 18:14, Mark 9:49, Luke 3:6, Luke 20:38, John 6:45, John 10:16, John 12:32, John 12:47,
Romans 11:32, Romans 14:4, Ephesians 1:9-10, Titus 2:11 et al) … As such, and indeed according to
Jesus Christ himself, other people‘s sins are NONE OF OUR BUSINESS – at least not until we
have completely cleansed ourselves of our own.
―Do not judge, so that you may not be judged, for with the judgment you make you will be
judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck in your
neighbor‘s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? Or how can you say to your neighbor, ‗Let me take
the speck out of your eye,‘ while a similar log is in your own? You hypocrite! First take the log out of
your own eye, and only then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor‘s … ―Woe to you,
scribes and Pharisees; you hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cups [of others], but inside are full
of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the
outside might also become truly clean … Truly, let he [or she] without sin cast the first stone.‖
~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-5 & Matthew 23:25-26 & John 8:7)
Truth #05: “Lovingly warning” gays of their sins IS judging them …
―But we love gay people, and we aren't judging them; we are only judging their sin – and
thereby kindly warning them of their imminent damnation‖ … Numerous variations of this
statement were made many times over the course of this thread, and yet the essence of its claim
still has yet to be addressed. Namely, the following three very important points:
A) that choosing to worship a God who clearly does judge some sins worthy of eternal
damnation (e.g. homosexual intercourse) and others worthy of forgiveness (e.g. judgemental
Christians ignoring Jesus' call to be humble as a child in Matthew 18:3) is to judge others by proxy.
Indeed, hiding behind a condemnatory, tyrannical God is no excuse when it is your choice
whether or not to worship that same deity ... B) that it is hypocritical to judge others of their sins
when you have not cleansed yourself of your own (see Matthew 7:1-5 + Matthew 23:25-26) ... and
C) that it is prejudicial bigotry plain & simple to isolate one particular group of sinners for
damnation when their ―sin‖ is innate to their genetic makeup – as well as when many other
groups are (according to both Testaments) equally worthy thereof (see previous page for many
examples thereof).
