18 March 1944: On <strong>the</strong> 18th, one new crew reported to <strong>the</strong> squadron<br />
for a tour <strong>of</strong> operational duty as follows: 2/Lt. Thomas, Pilot;<br />
2/Lt. Sprinkle, Copilot; 2/Lt. Kayman, Navigator; 1/lt. Sloat,<br />
<strong>Bomb</strong>ardier; S/Sgt. Fife, Engineer; Sgt. Arledge, Assistant<br />
Engineer; Sgt. Tastad, Radio Operator; Sgt. Brashears, Assistant<br />
Radio Operator; Sgt. Mullins, Tail Gunner; and Sgt, Possnack,<br />
Ball Turret Gunner.<br />
Also, on <strong>the</strong> 18th, a mission was scheduled to Oberpfaffen<strong>of</strong>fen,<br />
Germany, which was considered successful. Fighter escort did an<br />
excellent job. Six ships <strong>of</strong> this squadron took part in this<br />
mission as follows: Ship #513 Lt. 1/Lt. William L. Wood and crew,<br />
#636, 1st/Lt. William E. Reid and crew;, #909, 1st/Lt. Basil F.<br />
Hackleman and crew; #580, 1/Lt. Cecil G. Gorby and crew; #774,<br />
1st/Lt. Edwin B. Register, Jr. and crew; and #542, 1/Lt. Phillip<br />
G. Mack and crew.<br />
On this mission, 1/Lt. _????????? Pilot and<br />
T/Sgt????????__Engineer/Gunner, finished <strong>the</strong>ir tours <strong>of</strong> duty with<br />
<strong>the</strong> squadron and <strong>the</strong>y were assigned to duty elsewhere.<br />
19 March 1944: The 19th, being a Sunday, <strong>the</strong> usual ground schools<br />
were followed. There was no operational mission.<br />
20 March 1944: Frankfurt, Germany was <strong>the</strong> target for <strong>the</strong> 20th.<br />
This was <strong>the</strong> 125th mission in which <strong>the</strong> squadron has<br />
participated. There being 10/10 clouds over <strong>the</strong> target <strong>the</strong><br />
mission could not be completely observed, but <strong>the</strong><br />
mission was considered as successful. The following ships<br />
participated #776, Lt. Register and crew; #636, Lt.. Mack and<br />
crew; #513, Capt Kuehl and crew; #909, Lt. Hackleman and crew and<br />
#541, Lt. Wilkinson and crew.<br />
T/Sgt. John Williams, Engineer/Gunner; and T/Sgt. Jenson,<br />
Engineer/Gunner completed <strong>the</strong>ir tours <strong>of</strong> duty and have been<br />
assigned elsewhere.<br />
21 March 1944: On <strong>the</strong> 21st, <strong>the</strong>re being no operational missions,<br />
ground school and training activities were carried out. No ships<br />
flew locally.<br />
22 March 1944: Next day, <strong>the</strong> 22nd, Berlin Germany was <strong>the</strong> target.<br />
