<strong>Bomb</strong>ing Results: <strong>Bomb</strong>ing results <strong>of</strong> this <strong>Group</strong>'s bombs were unobserved due to industrial haze<br />

and partially effective smoke screen. 210 M-47, A1 Incendiary bombs were dropped by this<br />

squadron.<br />

Flak: Intense but inaccurate flak was encountered over <strong>the</strong> target.<br />

Escort and Enemy Fighters: P-47 escort was scheduled for cover over <strong>the</strong> whole route over<br />

enemy territory and was exceptionally good all <strong>the</strong> way. No direct fighter attacks were received<br />

by our <strong>Group</strong>, all ships <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Group</strong> returning safely to base.<br />

Casualties: 2/Lt. Marion M. Walshe, <strong>Bomb</strong>ardier on Lt. Ward's crew was injured when hit by a<br />

flak fragment in <strong>the</strong> right thigh. Effective first aid was given by Lt. Murray and Lt. Walshe was<br />

hospitalized.
