23 Feb. 1945: Meiningen and Hildburghausen , Germany was bombed<br />

by this group on <strong>the</strong> 23 . The primary target had 10/10ths clouds<br />
cover. The high squadron thus bombed Hildburghausen. Thirteen<br />
ships <strong>of</strong> our squadron took part in this mission. Squadron lead<br />

24 Feb. 1944: This was <strong>the</strong> group’s 300 mission on enemy targets<br />
since our first bombing on November 7, 1942. Target for our group<br />
on this date was Hamburg , Germany . <strong>Bomb</strong>ing was made on <strong>the</strong><br />
Blohm Voss Factory, by “GH” with an excellent run. Twelve ships<br />
<strong>of</strong> this squadron participated in this mission. Lt. Williams and<br />

crew led <strong>the</strong> squadron in ship #145 (324 ), #618, Lt. Brown and<br />
st<br />
crew; #217 (401 ), Lt. Dickson and crew; #909, Lt. Cochran and<br />
crew; #263, Lt. Holliday and crew. Lt. Borgstrom and crew in ship<br />
#939, aborted due to mechanical failure. All crews returned<br />
safely to base.<br />
25 Feb. 1945: There was no operational mission for <strong>the</strong> group so<br />
ground school was carried out as per usual.<br />
26 Feb. 1945: A mission was carried out to Berlin , Germany on<br />
<strong>the</strong> railway station at Schlesischer in <strong>the</strong> eastern section <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
city. <strong>Bomb</strong>ing was by “GH” results unobserved. Our squadron was<br />
“stood down”.<br />
27 Feb, 1945: The railway traffic center at Leipzig , Germany was<br />
attacked on this day which was our secondary bombed on “PFF” thru<br />
10/10ths clouds, with unobserved results. Major Taylor, squadron<br />
commander, led <strong>the</strong> group in ship #630 with <strong>the</strong> “A” crew; #806,<br />
Lt. Skawienski and crew; #263, Lt. Adams and crew; #471, Dep.<br />
<strong>Group</strong> Lead, Lt. Yavis and crew; #431, Lt. Holliday and crew;<br />
#225, Lt. Dickson and crew; #939, Lt. Cochran and crew; #116, Lt.<br />
Thompson and crew; #909, Lt. Borgstrom and crew; #379, Lt. Brown<br />
and crew; #618, Lt. Martinson and crew; #636, Lt. Harvey and<br />

There were no abortives and all returned safely to base.
