6 April 1945: No operational mission on <strong>the</strong> 6 , ground school as<br />
scheduled.<br />
7 April 1945: Thirteen A/C <strong>of</strong> this squadron participated in a<br />
mission to <strong>the</strong> Airdromes at Kohlenbissen and Fassberg, Germany.<br />
Very good results were obtained on this attack. We had no<br />
abortives and all ships and crews returned safely to base.<br />

8 April 1945: On <strong>the</strong> 8 , <strong>the</strong> locomotive repair shops at Stendal<br />
, Germany felt <strong>the</strong> effect <strong>of</strong> our bombing. Even though attacked by<br />
“PFF”, methods, strike photographs show excellent results. Twelve<br />
<strong>of</strong> our A/C took part in this mission. They were: #471, Lt. Yavis<br />
and crew; #276, Lt. Dickson and crew; #116, Lt. Blanchet and<br />
crew; #909, Lt. Sc<strong>of</strong>ield and crew; #615, Lt. Hunt and crew; #431,<br />
Lt. Holliday and crew; #263, Lt. Skawienski and crew; #225, Lt.<br />
Ward and crew; #379, Lt. Martinson and crew; #939, Lt. Dean and<br />
crew; #540, Lt. Templeton and crew; #841, Lt. Schilly and crew.<br />
All returned safely to base and <strong>the</strong>re were no abortives.<br />
9 April 1945: The group participated in a mission to<br />
Oberpfaffeni<strong>of</strong>en , Germany . This squadron took <strong>the</strong>ir turn and<br />
was “stood down”.<br />
10 April 1945: An attack on <strong>the</strong> Ordinance Depot at Oranienburg ,<br />
Germany , proved to be ano<strong>the</strong>r very excellent pinpoint bombing<br />
mission by this group. This squadron led <strong>the</strong> attack sending<br />
twelve A/C led by Major Thompson, C.O.. Also leading <strong>the</strong> group in<br />
ship #471, with <strong>the</strong> “A” crew; #379, Lt. Martinson and crew; #540,<br />
Lt. Borgstrom and crew; #630 (Dep. Op. Lead), Lt. Skawienski and<br />
crew; #615, Lt. Templeton and crew; #225, Lt. Ward and crew;<br />
#909, Lt. Blanchet and crew; #263, Lt. Smiekel and crew; #841,<br />
Lt. Hunt and crew; #939, Lt. Dean and crew; #116, Lt. Schilley<br />
and crew; #636, Lt. Harvey and crew. All returned safely to base<br />
and <strong>the</strong>re were not abortives.<br />
11 April 1945: On <strong>the</strong> 11 , an attack on <strong>the</strong> underground oil<br />
