17 March 1945: Bohlen , Germany was <strong>the</strong> group’s 315 mission.<br />

The syn<strong>the</strong>tic oil plant was bombed “PFF” unobserved results.<br />

There was much crowding by o<strong>the</strong>r formations on <strong>the</strong> bomb run.<br />

Thirteen A/C participated in this mission as follows: Squadron<br />

lead, #471, Lt. Williams and crew; #540, Lt. Borgstrom and crew;<br />

#618, Lt. Whitten and crew; #615, Lt. Shambaugh and crew; #806,<br />

Lt. Martinson and crew; #116, Lt. Thompson and crew; #263, Lt.<br />

Cochran and crew; #909, Lt. Dickson and crew; #636, Lt. Harvey<br />

and crew; #841, Lt. Lawson and crew; #225, Lt. Comstock and crew;<br />

18 March 1945: Again Berlin was attacked by our group. <strong>Bomb</strong>s were<br />

dropped on <strong>the</strong> Schlesischer and East Marshalling yards. Results<br />

were unobserved. Twelve ships <strong>of</strong> this squadron participated in<br />

<strong>the</strong> mission as follows: #630, Squadron Lead, Lt. Yavis and crew;<br />

#540, Lt. Borgstrom and crew; #618, Lt. Whitten and crew; #379,<br />

Lt. Brown and crew; #806, Lt Dickson and crew; #116, Lt.<br />

19 March 1945: Plauen , Germany was <strong>the</strong> 317 mission for <strong>the</strong><br />

group. The syn<strong>the</strong>tic oil plant at Bohlen was <strong>the</strong> assigned target.<br />

Due to cloud cover, <strong>the</strong> group bombed <strong>the</strong> number 3 target which<br />

was Plauen by H2X methods with unobserved results. The <strong>323rd</strong> Squadron took <strong>the</strong>ir turn and were “stood down” for this mission.<br />

20 March 1945: There was no mission scheduled for <strong>the</strong> 20 .<br />

Ground school and training activities were carried out with fair<br />

results.<br />
