17–21 November 1944: Ground School and training activities were<br />
carried out by all combat personnel. Due to adverse wea<strong>the</strong>r<br />
conditions, <strong>the</strong>re were no missions.<br />
21 November 1944: Merseburg , Germany was again bombed on this<br />
date. <strong>Bomb</strong>ing was on PFF with results unobserved. This squadron<br />
took its turn as <strong>the</strong> stand down squadron but one ship and crew<br />
was used as a fill in. This was Lt. Bull and crew in Ship #911.<br />
It returned safely.<br />
22–24 November 1944: Again wea<strong>the</strong>r was against us for continuing<br />
combat participation. Ground School and training activities was<br />
carried out by <strong>the</strong> combat personnel.<br />
25 November 1944: Merseburg , Germany was our target. <strong>Bomb</strong>ing was<br />
by PFF with results unobserved. Major Taylor, Squadron Commander<br />
led <strong>the</strong> group. Crews and ships participating in this mission<br />
were: Major Taylor, Capt. Reid and <strong>the</strong> “A” crew in Ship #174<br />
th (324 ) #913, Lt. Stevens and crew; #116, Lt. Corman and crew;<br />
#540, Lt. Mullins and crew; #490, Lt. O’Neil and crew; #086, Lt.<br />
Smith, Wm. T., and crew. #841, Lt. Maghee and crew; #431, Lt.<br />
Smith Wm. T. and crew; #618, Lt. Kirkham and crew; #642, Lt.<br />
Hettema and crew; #911, Lt. Sulli and crew; #270 Lt. Partridge<br />
and crew. All returned safely and <strong>the</strong>re were no abortives.<br />
26 November 1944: Altenbecken , Germany was bombed by GH methods<br />
with results unobserved. 13 ships <strong>of</strong> this squadron participated<br />
in this mission. They were: Capt. Maxwell and crew leading <strong>the</strong><br />

27 November 1944: Offenburg , Germany was <strong>the</strong> target for today.<br />
Lead and low squadrons bombed by “GH” methods <strong>the</strong> high squadron<br />
bombed visually but hits unobserved. Our squadron compiled <strong>the</strong><br />
low squadron Capt. Dietrich leading <strong>the</strong> formation. Those<br />
