18 December 1943:<br />

Personnel Changes: PFC Watford from sick in quarters LD to duty.<br />

19 December 1943:<br />

Personnel Changes: S/Sgt Gatti from duty to sick in quarters LD. Sgt. Fegeley from duty to<br />

absent, sick in hospital LD with <strong>the</strong> 49th Station Hospital.<br />

Flying: Three A/C flew on a local flight for a total <strong>of</strong> 7:00 hours. One A/C flew on a practice<br />

bombing flight for a total <strong>of</strong> 3:00 hours Two A/C flew on a cross country flight for a total <strong>of</strong> 8:00<br />

hours.<br />

20 December 1943:<br />

Personnel Changes: T/Sgt. Galian from DS with AAF Station 585 to duty. T/5 Nicholas Gatti<br />

erroneously listed as S/Sgt in remarks <strong>of</strong> 19 Dec. 1943. T/5 Gatti from sick in quarters LD to<br />

duty.<br />

Mission: to Bremen Germany: Seven A/C <strong>of</strong> this squadron took <strong>of</strong>f at 0620 hours on a mission to<br />

Bremen, Germany to bomb <strong>the</strong> center <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> city. AA fire was intense and accurate for our group.<br />

Seventeen to twenty enemy aircraft were reported to attack <strong>the</strong> wing, some <strong>of</strong> which E/A were<br />

using rockets. <strong>Bomb</strong>ing which was on PFF and reports <strong>of</strong> crews indicate that most <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir bombs<br />

fell short. All A/C returned to base safely.<br />
