4 March 1945: For <strong>the</strong> fourth consecutive day and <strong>the</strong> groups 307th mission on Ulm-Reutlingen , Germany , Klockner Humboldt Factory<br />
was bombed by <strong>the</strong> lead squadron. The low and high squadrons<br />
bombed <strong>the</strong> center <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong> Ulm . <strong>Bomb</strong>ing was unobserved due<br />
to dropping on “PFF”. Thirteen ships <strong>of</strong> this squadron completed<br />

<strong>the</strong> mission with <strong>the</strong> group as follows: #145 (324 ) Squadron<br />
Lead, Lt. Williams and crew; #263, Lt. Adams and crew; #636, Lt.<br />
Harvey and crew; #225, Lt. H<strong>of</strong>fman and crew; #909, Lt. Blanchet<br />
and crew; #431, Lt. Dean and crew; #615, Lt. Shambaugh and crew;<br />
#939, Lt. Dickson and crew; #116, Lt. Martinson and crew; #379,<br />
Lt. Brown and crew; #540, Lt. Borgstrom and crew; #806, Lt.<br />
Whitten and crew; and #841, Lt. Lawson and crew. All returned<br />
safely to base and <strong>the</strong>re were no abortives.<br />
5 - 6 March 1945: The next two days, <strong>the</strong>re was no missions, which<br />
gave <strong>the</strong> crews some time to rest up for <strong>the</strong> next to come and,<br />
also, give <strong>the</strong> ground men time to repair ships damaged by flak<br />
and to get a little sleep as well. Due to so much flying on<br />
operational missions, classes are continued each day even though<br />
<strong>the</strong>re is a scarcity in attendance, which even prevails on stand<br />
down days, but not to such a great extent.<br />

7 March 1945: The 91 <strong>Bomb</strong> <strong>Group</strong>’s 308 mission was to Dortmund<br />
and Giessen, Germany . The lead and high squadron attacked <strong>the</strong><br />
coking plant at Dortmund ; and <strong>the</strong> low squadron attacked <strong>the</strong> RR<br />
workshops at Giessen – all with fair results. Twelve ships <strong>of</strong><br />
this squadron participated in this mission as follows; #145<br />

#263, Lt. Adams and crew; #615, Lt. Shambaugh and crew; #618, Lt.<br />

#225, Lt. H<strong>of</strong>fman and crew; #431, Lt. Holliday and crew; #636,<br />
Lt. Martinson and crew. All ships and crews returned safely to<br />
base and <strong>the</strong>re were no abortives.<br />

8 March 1945: On <strong>the</strong> 309 mission to Huls , Germany , <strong>the</strong> Benzol<br />
plant was bombed by our aircraft. Results were unobserved as<br />

bombing was done with GEE-Hequipment. The 323 squadron took<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir turn and were “stood down” for this mission.<br />
9 March 1945: The group’s 310 mission was Kassel , Germany .<br />

The marshalling yards were bombed visually with excellent<br />
