140 III.- MANEJO Y UTILIZACION El sistema de líneas de banderolas probó ser un método fácil de implementar y de bajo costo que los guanacos no se atreven a traspasar. Pueden crearse barreras de longitudes de 100 a 900 m sin gran costo. La relación costo beneficio de las capturas en todas sus modalidades es negativa. Los resultados obtenidos en las condiciones dadas indican que la captura masiva de guanacos silvestres con fines de cosecha de fibra no es rentable. En las capturas se presentan problemas de bienestar animal no resueltos. Éstos dificultarían, acaso restringirían, una comercialización hacia la Comunidad Europea de los productos así logrados. Futuras investigaciones deberían orientarse al desarrollo de un sistema de captura profesionalizado en lo material y humano. El Estado de Chile debería promover y apoyar iniciativas en este sentido.
