appartenance commune. Certaines auteures précisent cependant que les principes
qu’elles identifient n’ont pas à être tous réunis pour considérer une recherche
féministe. Elles dénoncent ainsi les raisonnements mathématiques qui pourraient en
découler, à savoir qu’une recherche qui cumule plus de principes serait plus féministe
qu’une autre qui en cumule moins (entre autres Cook et Fonow 1986 : 20).
Parmi les chercheures qui ont relevé ce défi, notons Margrit Eichler 3 (1985, dans
Stanley et Wise 1990) qui identifie quatre propositions épistémologiques qui
devraient faire consensus parmi les chercheures féministes, Judith Cook et Mary
Margaret Fonow 4 (1986) qui identifient cinq principes de la recherche féministe,
Huguette Dagenais (1987) 5 qui en identifie quatre, ainsi que Shulamit Reinharz 6
(1992) qui identifie dix caractéristiques, que Michèle Olliver et Manon Tremblay

5) emphasis on the empowerment of women and transformation of patriarchal social institutions
through research » (Cook et Fonow 1986 : 5).
