History invites proposals<br />
for its 2000 meeting in Tacoma,<br />
Washington. Paper and session proposals<br />
that examine any aspect of<br />
human interaction with the physical<br />
<strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>t over time are welcome.<br />
The program committee especially<br />
<strong>en</strong>courages proposals that focus<br />
on the relationships among the<br />
practice of <strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>tal history<br />
and <strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>tal problems and<br />
solutions and that suggest possibilities<br />
for future <strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>tal<br />
histories. Proposals by contributors<br />
in related fields and scholars in<br />
foreign countries are welcome. The<br />
Program Committee strongly <strong>en</strong>courages<br />
the submission of <strong>en</strong>tire<br />
panels that inclu<strong>de</strong> all pres<strong>en</strong>ters,<br />
chair, and comm<strong>en</strong>tator. Though<br />
individual proposals will be consi<strong>de</strong>red,<br />
they will not be as easy to<br />
place on the program as complete<br />
ones. Contributors whose paper<br />
proposals are accepted can also<br />
serve as chair of another session.<br />
