Projekt „Cross-Cultural Walk in the Streets of Europe (CC-WISE)”<br />

The aim of the CC-WISE project is to create a model<br />

of practicable intercultural and interdisciplinary education<br />

based on realities from the societal environment<br />

that surrounds us. This model will address the<br />

need of adequate methodology that would enable<br />

teachers in partner countries to carry out a process of<br />

training, which fosters multicultural awareness, tolerance<br />

and understanding towards the values of the<br />

cultural diversity, and which promotes intercultural<br />

dialogue in European context.<br />

Non the less the project is addressed to answer the<br />

needs of modern and up-to-date training for inservice<br />

school teachers in the context of the new<br />

realms that rise the need of changing the role of the<br />

teacher in the teaching process from a mere lecturer to a competent facilitator of the students’<br />

learning progress, a “guide” that helps students to develop their knowledge and portfolio of<br />

skills.<br />

The project focuses on using the societal environment<br />

– the street names, street life and realities, in<br />

particular – for introducing interdisciplinary learnercentred<br />

approach of school instruction in lower<br />

secondary stage of education.<br />

During the course of the project implementation the<br />

following outputs will be produced:<br />

1/ Methodology of teaching and interdisciplinary<br />

didactic approaches for multicultural education<br />

through realities from the ordinary societal environment<br />

with the view of the EU enlargement;<br />

2/ Functional interdisciplinary Teacher Manual that<br />

will facilitate carrying out of a cross-cultural educati-<br />
