Projekt „Cross-Cultural Walk in the Streets of Europe (CC-WISE)”

The aim of the CC-WISE project is to create a model
of practicable intercultural and interdisciplinary education
based on realities from the societal environment
that surrounds us. This model will address the
need of adequate methodology that would enable
teachers in partner countries to carry out a process of
training, which fosters multicultural awareness, tolerance
and understanding towards the values of the
cultural diversity, and which promotes intercultural
dialogue in European context.
Non the less the project is addressed to answer the
needs of modern and up-to-date training for inservice
school teachers in the context of the new
realms that rise the need of changing the role of the
teacher in the teaching process from a mere lecturer to a competent facilitator of the students’
learning progress, a “guide” that helps students to develop their knowledge and portfolio of
skills.
The project focuses on using the societal environment
– the street names, street life and realities, in
particular – for introducing interdisciplinary learnercentred
approach of school instruction in lower
secondary stage of education.
During the course of the project implementation the
following outputs will be produced:
1/ Methodology of teaching and interdisciplinary
didactic approaches for multicultural education
through realities from the ordinary societal environment
with the view of the EU enlargement;
2/ Functional interdisciplinary Teacher Manual that
will facilitate carrying out of a cross-cultural educati-
