takeoffs, landings, or approaches). Ensure the appropriate number and type of life preservers<br />

are aboard for overwater missions carrying children and infants.<br />

6.27.4. Parachutes:<br />

6.27.4.1. Personnel performing duties near an open (or suspected open) door/hatch/ramp<br />

in-flight will be restrained by a safety harness, or wear a parachute.<br />

6.27.4.2. Either wear, or have prefit and prepositioned, parachutes and helmets during<br />

specified combat conditions IAW <strong>AFI</strong> <strong>11</strong>-<strong>2C</strong>-130V3 Addenda A. Loadmasters will wear<br />

a restraining harness instead of a parachute during airdrops below 800 feet AGL or when<br />

performing duties near an open exit above 25,000 MSL.<br />

6.27.5. MA-1 Portable Oxygen Bottles.<br />

6.27.5.1. There are three types of A-21 regulators on MA-1 portable oxygen bottles,<br />

unmodified, modified and modified2. Except for fill times, operation of the bottles are<br />

identical. Refill valve type is determined by viewing the inside of the fill nozzle and/or<br />

identaplate as specified below:<br />

6.27.5.1.1. Unmodified: Refill valves have a push valve inside the nozzle resembling<br />

a standard tire valve stem.<br />

6.27.5.1.2. Modified: Refill valves have a brass plate/filter covering inside of the<br />

nozzle and no valve stem is visible.<br />

6.27.5.1.3. Modified2 (Fast Fill): Refill valves have a brass plate/filter covering<br />

inside of the nozzle and no valve stem is visible. Part number on the identaplate is<br />

one of the following: 9010A4, 9010A5, 3260007-0201, 3260007-0103.<br />

6.27.5.2. Ensure a minimum of two unmodified/modified2 bottles are installed on the<br />

aircraft, one in the cargo compartment and the other in the pilot position. Additional<br />

unmodified/modified2 bottles should be installed in the cargo compartment first.<br />

6.27.5.2.1. Home Station Departures. A waiver to the minimum number of required<br />

unmodified/modified2 bottles may be granted on a case-by-case basis. (see<br />

paragraph 4.3)<br />

6.27.5.2.2. Enroute Departures. Maintain minimum number of<br />

unmodified/modified2. If unable, continue until reaching a location with replacement<br />

bottle(s).<br />

6.28. Fleet Service. Ensure the required fleet service items are aboard the aircraft early enough<br />

to permit inventory prior to engine start.<br />

6.29. Cargo Documentation. Proper cargo or mail documentation will accompany each load.<br />

6.29.1. Load Data Information (Applicable to AFRC/ANG completing 618 AOC (TACC)<br />

directed mission). At stations where there is no mobility air transportation function, the<br />

aircrew will collect the required load information on each leg, and submit it to the first<br />

station, which has such a function. The report will be submitted on AF Form 4075, Aircraft<br />

Load Data Worksheet.<br />

6.30. Airlifting Hazardous Cargo. NOTE: Installed flares do not constitute hazardous cargo.<br />

However, any additional loads of flares are not considered aircraft equipment and shall be
