Stability motivates them<br />
In bus<strong>in</strong>ess and <strong>in</strong> their personal lives, Steady Relaters take one day<br />
at a time and may consciously avoid gambles and uncerta<strong>in</strong>ties. Th ey<br />
tend to respect traditions and oft en demonstrate loyalty to everyone<br />
else while they trek along. Because stability <strong>in</strong> the workplace motivates<br />
them, Steady Relaters are apt to have the most compatible of all<br />
work<strong>in</strong>g relationships with each of the four types. Steady Relaters have<br />
patience, stay<strong>in</strong>g power, and stick-to-it-ivity, so they commit themselves<br />
to mak<strong>in</strong>g relationships work.<br />
Th ey are extremely uncomfortable with confl ict. In the workplace,<br />
this type may notice how others complete their tasks, but typically say<br />
noth<strong>in</strong>g negative about their observations (with the possible exception<br />
of a close friend or family member). Why? Th ey don’t want to<br />
make waves and they don’t want to appear to be know-it-alls. Silently,<br />
Steady Relaters may th<strong>in</strong>k they’re shoulder<strong>in</strong>g the lion’s share of duties,<br />
but they generally won’t tell the boss or fellow employees. Th ey’ll<br />
just cont<strong>in</strong>ue perform<strong>in</strong>g their own work and make the best of it.<br />
“Be prepared”<br />
If they need to make a presentation, Steady Relaters will probably<br />
thoroughly prepare and organize their material <strong>in</strong> advance. S<strong>in</strong>ce they<br />
feel comfortable with proven methods, they like to carefully acqua<strong>in</strong>t<br />
themselves with each step of a procedure so they can duplicate it later.<br />
When taken to an extreme, this adherence to follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>structions<br />
and ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g the status quo can limit their actions.<br />
S<strong>in</strong>ce Steady Relaters wear well and favor step-by-step procedures,<br />
they’re natural choices for assist<strong>in</strong>g/tutor<strong>in</strong>g others, ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g
