6.4.2 Effectiveness<br />
The evaluation of effectiveness entails measuring<br />
how far the specific objectives of the projects<br />
implemented in the area have been met from the<br />
point of view of farm household beneficiaries. Since<br />
these objectives include enhancing the economic<br />
viability of smallholders, reducing food insecurity<br />
of the surveyed farm households, and improving<br />
their rural living conditions, the question posed to<br />
beneficiaries directly addressed those components<br />
of the aid projects related to the improvement in<br />
production, income and food security.<br />
Smallholders were asked to evaluate the<br />
“level of improvement in production” and<br />
“income” resulting from their interaction with<br />
